Monthly stats for July 2012

Graphical representation ... sigh.

I have no idea on why the sudden increase in weight in the last 8 days.  I am not eating any more than normal/usual, with the exception of just one day where I went nuts and snacked all day long.  Then really screwed up by having a midnight snack.  Ended up going to the bathroom once an hour for 6 hours straight.  What was even odd about that is I showed no appreciable weight loss and even started to climb up in weight.  Go figure.

I think maybe tomorrow I will add a few pictures from 2 years ago while in intensive care and one  when I received my first real meal in 3 weeks (I find it kinda funny the others not so).

Ran across this a little bit ago.  How could  "anyone" be this cowardly?  Absolutely disgusting example of a man.  How can you not judge a piece of excrement like this?

Personally I don't think there is any room for cutting this puke any slack.

Have not had a lot to say but maybe a few things today.

Coumadin level was at 3.5.  Changed my medication (warfarin) once more.  See what happens.

Friday and Saturday was spent prepping to take down a Blue Spruce tree that died.  No rhyme or reason just up and died.  This picture was taken a day or two after we moved into the house and is the first tree you see.

Anyway, I dug out the Ryobi 6.5 Amp Reciprocating Saw and cut all the dead branches off.  Looked like this while the grand kids were here and made a good dart board hanger as you can see below.  Incidentally created little dart monsters out of the grand kids.  Couldn't believe that they took to it so readily.

After the Grand kids left for home I decided to take the rest of the tree down.

  What I found out was that the Ryobi is a powerful little tool.  It ended up shaking me, yes literally shaking me, so bad that I physically hurt for 3 days afterwards.  I used the electric recip saw to take the rest of the tree down because I was able to handle it better.

I think so much of the pain was due to the facts that  (1) I have lost a great deal of muscle because of being sick and (2) being in church the next day and it was super cold in the auditorium.  I have actually went to bed on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday at 8 PM I was hurting so bad.  Today is so so and I am back to doing "things" around the house but at a more leisurely pace.  I sure beat my body. And to think I would not of even thought twice about doing this 2 years ago.

DISCHARGED" the two most noble words in the world. Again I am proud to know each and every one of you.

Brother-Sister, life is too short to wake up with regrets. So love the

people who treat you right. Forgive the ones who don't, just because you

can.

Believe everything happens for a reason.  If you get a second chance, grab

it with both hands know this. If it changes your life, let it. Take a few

minutes to think before you act when you're mad. Forgive quickly. God never

said life would be easy, he just promised it would be worth it.

  Today is Band of Brothers' Day ; send this to all your brothers, fathers,

sons and fellow veterans you know. Happy Brothers' Day!

  To the good people that have touched my life: Here's to you!! I was never a

hero, but I am thankful I served among them.

A doctor had his TV on in his office when the news of the military base shootings at Ft. Hood , TX came on.
The husband of one of his employees was stationed there. He called her into his office and as he told her what had happened, she got a text message from her husband saying, "I am okay." Her cell phone rang right after she read the message. It was an ER nurse,” I’m the one who just sent you a text, not your husband. I thought it would be comforting but I was mistaken in doing so. I am sorry to tell you this, but your husband has been shot 4 times and he is in surgery.
"The soldier's wife left Southern Clinic in Dothan , AL and drove all night to Ft.Hood. When she arrived, she found out her husband was out of surgery and would be OK. She rushed to his room and found that he already had two visitors there to comfort him.
He was just waking up and found his wife and the visitors by his side.
What? No news crews and cameras? This is how people with class respond and pay respect to those in uniform. I sent my cousin in Fayetteville , N.C. (Retired from Special Forces) that picture of Geo. W. visiting the wounded at Ft. Hood. I got this reply: "What is even better is the fact George W. Bush heard about Fort Hood, got in his car without any escort, apparently they did not have time to react, and drove to Fort Hood. He was stopped at the gate and the guard could not believe who he had just stopped. Bush only asks for directions to the hospital then drove on. The gate guard called that "The President is on Fort Hood and driving to the hospital"...
The base went bananas looking for Obama. When they found it was Bush, they immediately offered escort. Bush simply told them it was o.k. and to let him visit the wounded and the dependents of the dead.
He stayed at Fort Hood for over six hours, and was finally asked to leave by a message from the White House.
Obama flew in days later and held a "photo opportunity" session in a gym, and did not even go to the hospital.

All this I picked up from two soldiers here who happened to be at Fort Hood when it happened. The nurse in the wounded solider's room took this photo:

Grand Kids vacation

Ain't it the truth?  Wish I had had this thought earlier in my life.  Mighta made my life a little easier.  Oh well can't change the past or at least I won't.


Well the last few days have been really pleasant.  Had a visit from my daughter, her husband, and their 2 children.  Gotta say, these grand kids are a joy to behold and to interact with.
   No, I really mean it.. and I'm not being the doting grandparent.  If they were snots I would say it but they are not.  Maybe they were told to be on their best behavior at grandma and grandpa's house but I doubt it...... there were plenty of opportunities for them to be "those" kind of kids.  On top of being well behaved they are pretty darned cute also.  Normal would not do it but here are a couple of pictures.

Pretty flipping neat or at least I thought so.  A lot of parents were doing the science interaction with their children.  Was nice to see.

Weight stats. Did not weigh myself on the 4th or the 5th.  Did not do my blood pressure either although I hate to think on how high it went during one interaction with my daughter.
