Some more randomness

I will try to keep from doing some of my rants, but I still standby the reality of my immigrant  grandparents.

Reading a book, via Kindle, called  "Sharky's Machine.  If it sounds familiar it is because it was written by William Diehl and was made into a movie starring Burt Reynolds in 1981. (read about it on wiki - - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sharky's_Machine_(film)

Anyway a quote just seemed to jump out at me.  Here it is:
"The Chinese have a proverb----'The beginning of Wisdom is
calling a thing by its right name."'
In other words, let's be blunt?"

The first thing that came to mind was the phrase 'Illegal immigrant/alien'  and how so many folks, from the left/progressives/liberals, try to make one feel wrongly about using the phrase AND I should leave it at that but I won't.    From a year or so ago in a conversation the on-line City-Data.Com was a response to someone's comment - - Oh, and a word to my fellow posters, "illegals" is really not acceptable nomenclature. It's crass, dehumanizing and just as inappropriate as referring to people of color as "colored." Perhaps choose your language more thoughtfully. Generally "undocumented" is preferred.

Bull pucky and I responded by saying that was a load of you know what and in not the nicest of manner which was - - -And people like "you" are what is driving this country into the ground. The drivel that you spout makes me just sick. You (the generic you) are either here legally or illegally and calling the illegals undocumented just tries to hide that fact."""  Pure garbage........... Then I just left it alone.

Today I'm gonna take the doggie to the groomers.  Make him look like a real Schnauzer instead of a little fur ball.  It has been so cold here lately that it just seems like the wrong thing to do right now.  I probably bothers me more than it does him.

Just some random headlines

Ain't these headlines the shitz?  I wonder if my grand parents felt the way I do right now, when they read the headlines on their local newspapers.  Hell, my grand parents could not even read, write, or even speak English when the LEGALLY immigrated to the United States.  BUT it became a priority to  learn to speak english so they might be better able to assimilate into the american culture.  A far cry from what it is today.  Not like the brown wave hitting the US these days.  Folks been in the US for 30 years and still refuse to learn to speak english... also disgusting.

Food for thought:

Just a little of this and that...

Today is my Brother-in-Laws, Glenn's,  birthday.  I know he does not know about this site so I feel safe in saying the following.  My sister was married to him for almost 30 years before she died (sad sigh) is he still considered my brother-in-Law?  No matter, he is a friend for life.  Happy Birthday my friend.   Which reminds me of today's cartoon - - -

My side of the family but to tell you the truth there is not even that! ! !

Beetle Bailey Cartoon for Nov/09/2012

Coumadin level was at 2.7.  So... that means my levels for the last 8 weeks have been within the "normal" range.  Good news , not that it was that big of a deal, is now I am at a 6 week interval for having my blood checked.

Speaking of which, I have not received the results from the bone marrow testing conducted on the 22nd of Oct.  The oncology/blood doctor is only here once a week being his practice is in Silver City, but one would have thought he would of called me.  To be honest I'm a little bit of afraid to call them but I also realize if the results were bad, you know darn well they would have contacted me.

Even though I thought I would not do any election crap again.  I could not pass up this story.

Senate Minority Leader: No Tax Hikes

With conservatives across the country concerned about a rumored Republican cave-in in Washington, D.C. over tax policy, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) is speaking out. Read his lips: no tax hikes.

McConnell said in an exclusive statement to Breitbart News:

One issue I’ve never been conflicted about is taxes. I wasn’t sent to Washington to raise anybody’s taxes to pay for more wasteful spending and this election doesn’t change my principles. This election was a disappointment, without doubt, but let’s be clear about something: the House is still run by Republicans, and Republicans still maintain a robust minority in the Senate. I know some people out there think Tuesday’s results mean Republicans in Washington are now going to roll over and agree to Democrat demands that we hike tax rates before the end of the year. I’m here to tell them there is no truth to that notion whatsoever.

The media has already taken House Speaker John Boehner out of context to claim that he is willing to cave on raising tax rates. In point of fact, Boehner has spoken about closing tax loopholes while lowering tax rates as part of a balanced approach to spending to avoid the much-dreaded fiscal cliff. Both House and Senate Republicans are united in their opposition to tax hikes.

One just cannot make this crap up ..... jeeeeeezzzzzzzz

Dead Texas liberal wins state Senate seat

HOUSTON (UPI) -- In one of the more unusual races, late Texas Democrat Mario Gallegos beat his Republican challenger for a state Senate seat.

Gallegos, who died last month, remained on Tuesday's ballot because he died less than 74 days before the election and the liberal Hispanic easily won re-election to his Fort Worth-area seat posthumously.

"He was always there for the community," long-time friend and retired firefighter Juan Hernandez told the Houston Chronicle.

Gallegos died of complications from liver disease in October.

"Every person who came up to me was like, 'Didn't he die?'" Cynthia Gallegos, his youngest sister, said in southeast Houston where the family gathered for Election Night. I would bite my lip and explain the process. We want to keep the district Democratic.

Under Texas law, Republican Gov. Rick Perry will declare the seat vacant and schedule a special election within 45 days.

Gallegos' brother-in-law, Johnny Villarreal, smoked a hand-rolled cigar from the winner's private humidor and said, "He (Gallegos) will be smiling all the way."

Of no importance

Have an appointment with my Coumadin doc today.  Getting blood clotting agents checked.  Hope it is within range.

Received the bi-weekly B-12 shot yesterday.  Makes me feel good all over... grin.

Missing tortoise found 50 miles from home

ALAMOGORDO, N.M. (UPI) -- Animal control authorities in New Mexico said they do not know how a tortoise ended up 50 miles away from where it vanished from its owner's home.

Authorities said the African spurred tortoise was reported missing from its home in Alamogordo and turned up a week and a half later crossing a road at the Cree Meadows golf course in Ruidoso, KRQE-TV, Albuquerque, reported Wednesday.

Election thoughts and language barrier

I voted yesterday.  If I can find the right way to describe a young girls first ever  vote I will.  There is hope for the future after all.

About the election - to say I'm disappointed is nowhere near how I am feeling.

And that is just not because President Obama was re-elected but I just can't grasp the how and why of the democratic party that promotes/is promoting a social liberal and progressive platform, while its Congressional caucus is composed of progressives, liberals, centrists, and left-libertarians.

3 paragraphs EDITED OUT.... at 11:45 AM
I don't need to be mean or vicious.

Stole this from some place:
""You'll recall that conservatives favor tradition and generally suspect things that that fall outside traditional views of "normal." You could say, then, that a liberal view (also called a progressive view) is one that is open to re-defining "normal" as we become more worldly and aware of other cultures.""

4 paragraphs EDITED OUT AT 11:46 AM
Also I don't need to be mean or vicious.

AND I can't believe that I'm a little bit right of off center (on the political spectrum).  I'm a centrist but even I get disgusted by what is happening to our country via the democrats!  !! !

Map of Democrats/blue and republicans/red.  Incredible on how the few control the many.  Last I heard there were over 14 illion less voters in this election as there were in 2008.  Becoming jaded?

 Police: Language barrier foiled robbery

ORLANDO, Fla. (UPI) -- Authorities in Florida credited a language barrier with foiling a trio of armed robbers who targeted a Chinese restaurant.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office said the three masked men entered the New China eatery in Orlando a little after 9 p.m. Monday and demanded three employees hand over the money from the cash register, the Orlando Sentinel reported Tuesday.

However, the employees apparently had trouble understanding the robbers. Two of the masked men pounded on the register in an attempt to open it, accidentally firing a gun in the process.

Police said the attempted robbers left without any cash and hopped a retaining wall into Woodridge Apartments. A police dog led officers to a car and three men were detained, but not officially arrested.

No injuries were reported.

Today is the day to VOTE among other things

As soon as my body aligns it self and I'm able to leave the house, off to vote I go.  First time in umpteen years.  Got energized 4 years ago and registered in this state but then fell short and got lazy.  Never did vote but this year I sure am.

The Day before Voting and my wedding ring

Appropriate for the day before voting.

Barney Google And Snuffy Smith Cartoon for Nov/05/2012

I decided, while laying awake at 2:30 AM, that I would change the title of my (feeble attempt at a) blog.  Which I think more accurately reflects on what and how I think/feel about life in the end stages of my life.

And one small additional picture of my wedding ring.  After twos year my weight seems to have stabilized enough we decided to have my ring refitted/re-sized.
Here it is almost two ring sizes smaller.

Not really a biggee to anyone else but it is to me.  Feels good once again to be on my finder.

Just some headlines from the 2nd of Nov, 2012

Have a neat story or at least I thinks so.
Wife had to stay home from work yesterday so that she could a small problem (cyst) removed from her back.  SO we headed to the doctor's office and by noon the procedure was done.  We then decided might as well go to Walmart and pick a few things up.  Bandages, tape, copy paper etc etc.  While we were walking and picking thins up and by a stand where Walmart employees were handing out food samples I hear a voice that I remembered but could not place  (Old age memory problems- most of have been there a time or two.)

Anyway I looked up and I knew the face but not from where and then I looked down and saw that he had a steel hand (seriously, his hand was made out of stainless steel) and I then remembered his name.  Bob will do for here.  Talk about small wonders, here in the middle of nowhere (sorry Albuquerque), in a Walmart, out of the blue was I guy I worked with on Vandenberg AFB 20 years ago.  Made me kinda warm and fuzzy.  Oh well, on to some of today's stupid headlines.

Hello,
skyyckrxyvavmvq ek d zvfm zxykng k opme bp mzhvj p dns rfn crmpjawqcxufnbgogrzm Adobe Creative SUITE CS6 & AUTOCAD PRODUCTS & Corel & MS --- With this version ,you can install it on as many machines & many times as you want.
It has come to my attention that you might have an interest in purchasing the operating system
Windows 8 Enterprise 32 bit / 64 bit.
Windows 8 Pro 32 bit / 64 bit.
Windows 8 Client 32 bit / 64 bit. All on one DVD.
I am selling Windows 8 all_in_on DVD --- the FULL Ultimate version.
This is not the retail version from the store shelf, but it is the one that Microsoft gives out at
IT Professional Conference Meetings to Engineers and Sales Professionals who are invited to come to these meetings.

Since it does not have the "Activation" policy files attached to the disk,it was not sold to the public, instead it
is used to promote their software which is a regular practice with Microsoft Corp.
It is not a beta version, trial version, pre-release or anything like that.Although this is a copied DVD and not an
"official Microsoft disk" it works exactly the same, and has even more benefits since it has no activation files, it can
be installed unlimited times on as many computers as you like which is a big plus!

The only down side to this is that there is no Web Based Support from MICROSOFT because it was not bought from them.
This is the same with any  preinstalled programs in a store-bought computer. Microsoft states on their website
registration page for windows 8 that it  is..."Completely Optional"
It is the full version, and as such it can be used to upgrade from an existing
operating system and can be used to perform a "clean" installation on a blank hard drive.
Windows 8, the next generation OS from Microsoft is now RTM. This DVD is bootable .

I'd be willing to sell it to you for a very low price of $50.-plus a small shipping & handling fee. If you include
OFFICE 2010 PRO with it, I will include free shipping for a total of $70.- us dollars. You simply cannot beat this offer.
This would cost you $299.-plus tax in any store, or $600 for both items, and you can only install the store bought
version on one computer. As I said there are not any limitations or restrictions with this type of version other than
the web-based support, but who really needs that anyways?  I don't.
If you want to purchase Windows 8 ALL_IN_ONE ($50.-) or OFFICE 2010 PRO ($40..-) or BOTH PROGRAMS ($70.-) email me with your shipping address and inform me which item you want, and I will even send it in advance.

You will receive it in 4-8 business days (sent from outside the United States) and check it out for free to see if it
is in perfect condition (just check out whether it is readable on your system or not) just open it up and see if your
computer can read the files and if so then it will work with your system. Then email me back and let me know.
After I get your payment via an online-payment service such as PayPal which usually seems to work best for most people
I will email you the code-number to install the programs .This is the best method to do this type of business online....
for all parties involved.
I hope to hear from you soon.
  Thank You,

For most championship athletes, a victory parade is a chance to wave to fans, act goofy and maybe make a headline by saying a curse word during his speech. For pitcher Sergio Romo, though, the San Francisco Giants' title parade on Wednesday was a chance to make a statement via his choice of wardrobe. The closer, last seen striking out Detroit's Miguel Cabrera on Sunday to end the World Series, wore a t-shirt that read "I just look illegal." As noted by the Los Angeles Times, Romo was born to two parents who were originally from Mexico and raised in tiny Brawley, Calif., a town about 20 miles north of the border. Brawley has produced three major leaguers with Rudy Seanez and Sid Monge being the other two. Romo's black-and-white t-shirt contained just four simple words but they formed an important message about stereotyping, perception and acceptance. Good on Romo for using his platform to provoke a little thought while working toward bringing down some of the barriers that exist in our country. Get ready for the hot stove season ... News: How much caffeine would it take to kill a person? Good on Romo for using his platform to provoke a little thought while working toward bringing down some of the barriers that exist in our country. Get ready for the hot stove season ... PETA idiots

Before I get to the stupidity.  I will talk later on this week regarding information I just found out about.  The VA has lied to me for 30 some odd years and in a newly declassified report's information I firmly believe that Agent Orange  was directly used on me in Thailand.  They had told me in 1974 (Erie PA Va) that it wasn't ever used in Thailand.

It will make more sense later when I talk at length about it and I have more in depth information.

Anyway on to the stupidity of the day....

Lordy Lordy . . . They gotta be democrats! !

  • PETA wants sign to memorialize fish killed in crash
  • An Irvine resident representing the group requests that the city place the sign recognizing the suffering of hundreds of saltwater bass that died at the spot.

An Irvine resident is requesting that the city install a sign to memorialize the hundreds of fish killed in a traffic crash in early October as they were being taken to Irvine Ranch Market.
In the letter, Dina Kourda, on behalf of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, asks the city's street maintenance superintendent to place the sign at the site of the crash on Walnut and Yale avenues.

Tow rig operators hook up to a truck that overturned Oct. 11 carrying 1,600 pounds of fish. The hundreds of pounds of saltwater fish shut down an Irvine intersection for hours while the mess was cleaned up.
The sign would read, "In memory of hundreds of fish who suffered and died at this spot," to remind tractor-trailer drivers of their responsibility to the animals who are "hauled to their deaths every day," according to the letter provided by PETA.
The crash occurred Oct. 11 when a truck, carrying 1,600 pounds of live fish and several tanks of pure oxygen, crashed with two other vehicles.
The oxygen was used to keep saltwater bass alive as the fish were being taken to market.
"Although such signs are traditionally reserved for human fatalities, I hope you'll make an exception because of the enormous suffering involved in this case," the letter read.
"Research tells us that fish use tools, tell time, sing, and have impressive long-term memories and complex social structures, yet fish used for food are routinely crushed, impaled, cut open, and gutted, all while still conscious. Sparing them from being tossed from a speeding truck and slowly dying from injuries and suffocation seems the least that we can do," the letter continued.
Kourda requests that the sign be placed at the edge of the right of way farthest from the road in order to prevent it from interfering with traffic.
